Should we build a public App Store app or a private app?
It depends on whether you are solving a problem for your own store or for other merchants. Private apps ship faster and skip App Store review entirely. Can you build checkout customizations now that checkout.liquid is deprecated?
Yes. We build on Shopify's Checkout Extensibility framework using checkout UI extensions and Shopify Functions, the only supported path for checkout customization going forward, and it works across Shopify Plus and eligible standard plans.
Will the app slow down our storefront?
